L’Express – Climate law: “We must take it for what it is, a step”

L’Express publishes an article Maxime de Guillenchmidt, associate, on the occasion of the vote on the Climate bill in the French National Assembly.

“The Climate and Resilience Law will not be the great environmental law of the 21st century nor the most significant text of Emmanuel Macron’s five-year term. However, we should not see this as a refusal of the energy transition but rather bring this law back to what it is: a political response that came at the worst time but which is fortunately only one of the links in a fundamental movement. . (…) It is still possible to believe in a real energy transition while respecting all freedoms and in a spirit of social justice. If the Climate and Resilience bill is not a turning point, the consideration of environmental constraints by the institutions responsible for developing and monitoring the standard is very real. »
