La Tribune – Financial transparency: the general public will no longer have access to the list of beneficial owners of companies
On December 5, 2022 Maxime de Guillenchmidt, partner, published an opinion in La Tribune on the judgment of November 22, 2022, by which the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) considered that public access to the identity of the beneficial owners of EU companies was an interference in the rights to respect for private life and the protection of personal data, protected by Articles 7 and 8 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the Union, which should have been limited to the strictly necessary.
