Restructuring, anticipating and dealing with distress

Our lawyers work on behalf of French and foreign players (companies in difficulty, investors, purchasers, shareholders, etc.) on all types of restructuring, combining transactional and legal skills.

We provide preventive support as soon as the first difficulties arise (liability restructuring, ad hoc mandate or conciliation), in the event of collective proceedings (safeguard, receivership or liquidation) or in the event of company takeovers.

As one of the firm’s long-standing activities, we have in-depth knowledge of all the players in this field (commercial courts, court-appointed agents, financial experts, auditors, interim managers, etc.). The stakes involved and the reputation of the restructurings in which our lawyers have been involved mean that we have recognised expertise based on a thorough understanding of the issues and specific features of certain business sectors.

Thanks to our experience of international cases, we are able to assist French companies in the new European insolvency procedures, as well as foreign companies with interests throughout the European Union, particularly in France.

We also assist management in risk analysis and defence. We attach particular importance to the human approach to these cases and do not hesitate to work with other players to combine legal, managerial and psychological expertise.

In the context of restructuring listed companies or distressed M&A, we work with our mergers and acquisitions team, as well as with our financing team in the context of debt renegotiation for certain cases, and with our employment team to implement job protection plans or employee transfers.
